Bucks Funding Fair

The annual Buckinghamshire Community Funding Fair for community groups and not-for-profit social enterprises will be taking place this year on 16th February at The Clare Foundation building in Saunderton.

This year’s event is sponsored by Aylesbury Vale District Council, Buckinghamshire Community Foundation, Buckinghamshire County Council, Chiltern District Council, The Clare Foundation, South Bucks District Council and Wycombe District Council. The Fair runs from 1:00pm - 6:00pm and is free of charge to all representatives of local community groups and not-for-profit social enterprises who want to find out more about funding opportunities available within the county.

13 funders will be represented at the event and 2 Funding Advisors will be on hand to provide individual assistance - no appointments are necessary. There will be [4] speakers, including a representative of the Big Lottery and Bucks Big Society Bank.   Pre-booking is strongly recommended. In 2011 more than 200 people attended the event and, given the extra recent pressures on the county’s not-for-profit groups, it is expected that this year’s Funding Fair will be another ‘must go to’ event for anyone involved in local community activities.

The Red Kite Ramble 2012 - Book now for 24th June

On Sunday 26th June last year, 270 keen walkers (and a number of faithful dogs and children!) representing 39 charities, braved the heat again to complete the Red Kite Ramble. This was a massive 150% increase on the inaugural event in 2010.
Mike Elliott, the Foundation's Chief Executive, said of last year’s Ramble, "It was great to see the way local charities embraced and leveraged the fundraising opportunity we provided with the Red Kite Ramble. It was a great day out with a purpose, for families, young and old, the serious walkers and the strollers. It also gave us a chance to tell people what we do to help the charity sector in the Chilterns and the Thames Valley."

On Sunday 24th June this year, The Clare Foundation is joining with The Chiltern Society again to organise the 3rd Red Kite Ramble - our 5 or 10 mile sponsored walk through the Chiltern’s countryside starting and finishing at the Foundation's Saunderton site. The safe and enjoyable routes will be marshalled by volunteers and Foundation staff.

The Red Kite Ramble provides walkers with the opportunity to raise funds for their own chosen charities. Since there are no entry charges all promised monies go straight to nominated charities. We hope to increase participation this year both in terms of charities represented and walkers so please come and participate. It should be a great day out particularly if we have a repeat of the glorious weather we’ve been lucky enough to have in the past two years…………
