Event Fundraising for Small Charities: MOB Events

MOBs can be anything – mud runs, obstacle courses, adventure races, costume chases – but what really defines them is that they are hyper social, they are often team based, and they are a whole lotta fun.
Since 2007, there has been a 700% increase in mass participation events (Eventbrite / Just Giving data). Runs account for 18 of the 25 largest third party fundraising events.
Fundraising for MOB events is up by 18% - so the question is, as a small charity, how can you get involved in this market?
During this Seminar Sarah will explore trends in the market and explore what is next for fundraising events. She will offer advice on how to enter the MOB market, with opportunities for small and large budgets, and will explore creative ways to make your investment go further and how to maximise your fundraising.
Following the Seminar we will run a Q & A session and workshop, giving all attendees the opportunity to share their experience and knowledge in the subject. During the workshop we will explore ways in which attendee charitable organisations can collaborate to create valuable fundraising experiences on a small budget.

Engaging the Disengaged – Behaviour Change Tactics

Behaviour change is a series of small steps that people take over time as part of a journey. The goal of that journey may be to reverse unhealthy patterns of behaviour, such as an inactive lifestyle. Behaviour change techniques have been proven to be successful in other social areas too, such as stopping smoking and losing weight by implementing a healthier diet. By taking this workshop, delegates will be able to provide their participants with the tools and the incentive to create lasting change in their lives.
This is a 2 hour workshop where delegates will learn:
- How to use EAST (Easy, Attractive, Social, Timely) as a simple framework for achieving behaviour change.
- Master simple strategies that can influence behaviour and ensure participants keep coming back to sessions and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Identify the individual needs, motivations and goals of participants, and how to tailor content to suit them.
In a recent report by Sport England interviews with young people indicated that the style of coaching adopted in a session – and more precisely the skills of the coaches leading – were identified as the single most important determinants of whether a session is likely to succeed.

Mental Health First Aid Lite – an introductory mental health awareness course

Mental Health First Aid Lite is a 3 hour introductory mental health awareness course that is aimed at all those involved in sport to raise awareness and increase understanding of Mental Health. The aims and objectives of the course include:
Enabling participants to:
- gain a wider understanding, for themselves and others, of some issues surrounding mental health
- gain a greater understanding of how and why positive and negative mental health affects business
- work more effectively with people experiencing mental health problems
By the end of the course participants will be able to
- identify the discrimination surrounding mental health problems
- define mental health & some mental health problems
- relate to people’s experiences
- help support people with mental health problems
- begin developing a business case for promoting positive mental health in the workplace
- look after their own mental health
The course also introduces ALGEE – a unique memory tool for conducting mental health first aid.
The course is delivered by Approved MHFA Instructors who have completed a seven day programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health. All participants receive a certificate of attendance and manual.

This Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse, and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career. First Aid for Sport

This course is suitable for any persons involved in coaching any sport at club level. Areas covered include crisis management and dealing with respiratory arrest, circulatory arrest, fractures, bleeding, thermal injuries and CPR. This course is not HSE approved.

Terms and Conditions
The Clare Foundation (TCF) reserves the right to postpone, amend or cancel any seminar and further reserves the right, but is not obliged to, to offer an alternative without any responsibility on its part in the unfortunate circumstances of:
An event or occurrence beyond the reasonable control of TCF which causes or is likely to prevent TCF from performing its obligations.
The Venue or any part thereof becoming unsuitable or unavailable to hold the seminar, due to a Force Majeure event or unforeseen circumstances, examples of which are adverse or severe weather conditions, safety or technical issues, the permanent or temporary closure of the Venue or a change of ownership or control of the Venue.
The facilitator or trainer being unable to offer the seminar due to a Force Majeure event or unforeseen circumstances, examples of which are adverse or severe weather conditions, technical issues, illness, business or personal circumstances. In the unfortunate case of a cancellation or termination by TCF as set out above, TCF will notify the Client as far in advance as possible and will arrange for the refund of any deposits and monies paid but will have no other obligation or liability to the Client. TCF will not be liable to the Client for any loss (consequential or otherwise), cost, expenditure, damage or compensation for such changes.
Any Client acting in an improper or disorderly manner or refusing to comply with the reasonable requests of TCF's staff may be removed from site. Physical or verbal abuse or aggressive or violent conduct will not be tolerated. TCF reserves the right to remove individuals from the Venue whose behaviour, conduct or language fall below acceptable standards or to withdraw services or facilities or to terminate the Event. Should this occur, no monies will be refunded. The decision of TCF's senior representative/management at the Venue will be final and binding.
TCF does not warrant and takes no responsibility for the accuracy of any verbal information given or statements made by its staff or contractors.
TCF cannot guarantee vehicle parking for all Guests at the Venue and will not be responsible for the security of possessions, vehicles or property. These are brought to the Venue at the entire risk of the owner.
Except to the extent that the law stipulates otherwise, TCF will accept no liability to the Client or Guests for any inconvenience, injury or loss and damage caused to any person or property at the Venue.
TCF, its Agent or representative may carry out photography or other recordings at the Event. The Client has the right to withdraw their consent at any time by informing TCF in writing to the postal address or the emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Images may be used on the website, or in future marketing materials. The Guests consent to the use of such images by TCF in connection with advertising, promoting or monitoring and acknowledge that copyright in such images rests with TCF. No payment or compensation will be offered to either the Client or Guests if any images are used. Please note where imagery has been used with prior consent, TCF may not be able to withdraw all imagery in circulation immediately.
TCF reserves the right to collect and process the personal data from the Client and the Guests for the purposes of marketing and promotional activities.
In the public areas of the Venue, CCTV may be in operation and video recordings may be made. This activity is carried out for security and for operational reasons and for the safety of the Guests.
Nothing contained within this agreement will affect the statutory rights of either TCF or the Client.
These Terms and Conditions will be binding on the Client, its successors and assigns.
